Until the Vols offense picks back up, we'll be backing the Under, especially at Home. They got back on track with a 64-44 win over Florida on Saturday, but they still shot just 40% from the floor. In their 3 previous games they shot 34.7% vs Kentucky, 31.5% at Auburn, and 41.8% vs Mississippi State. Kentucky has one of the worst defenses among Power 5 programs and Mississippi State's 54th in defensive rating. Can cut them some slack against good defensive teams like Florida and Auburn but it's been bad overall, especially with 3 of their last 4 played at Home. Tennessee's #1 ranked defense continues to show out, leading the nation in opponent FG% despite an offensive SOS that ranks 12th in the nation. They also lead the nation in opponent 3-PT%. The 3-PT defense is crucial against a Missouri team that shoots 37.9% from deep and has a 42.4% 3-PT Rate. Missouri has had significant shooting struggles on the road, knocking down just 32.9% of threes compared to 39.9% at Home. It's their perimeter shooting that opens the floor and allows them to drive to the Basket. That also leads to fouls and Free Throws, as Mizzu is 6th in opponent fouls per possession. Tennessee plays clean defense though, ranking 31st in fouls per possession. Even with some good shooting this game could hit the Under. Tennessee is 339th in Tempo and Missouri's 179th. Tennessee's defense slows down every offense, but their massive rebounding edge will also allow them to dictate the flow of this game.
