NCAA Tournament Champion.

Creighton +3,000 (1 Unit).

The Blue Jays started playing great basketball down the stretch. They won 7 of their final 8 regular season games with decisive wins over both UConn and Marquette during that stretch. They were an early exit in Big East Tournament play but that can work to a team’s benefit playing less games and getting extended rest before the Tournament.

Utah State transfer PG Steven Ashworth really found his footing for Creighton. They lost their starting Point Guard Ryan Nembhard to Gonzaga via the transfer portal after their Elite 8 run a season ago. Ashworth was the prized replacement but for a while it looked like the bump in competition was too much for him. He's figured it out and he's running the Creighton offense beautifully. He and Center Ryan Kalkbrenner are phenomenal in the pick and roll. Kalkbrenner is their 7'1 Center and one of the best rim Protectors in the game. Baylor Scheierman is one of the best players in the Country and then there's also Trey Alexander, who's another elite scorer. Creighton's 13th overall in Adj O and 24th in Adj D this season. They do it on both ends of the floor, but Ashworth's improved play has really tied this offense together. Creighton's also a strong 3-PT shooting team. They're 47th overall shooting 36.5% from 3 and they always have 4 shooters on the floor. They're 7th in 3-PT Rate but that's a statistic they've fallen in down the stretch. They haven't been as dependent on it as they were earlier this year. They're a team that can get hot from outside and put the 6-game run together.

They also got a decent draw in the Midwest region where they're the # 3 seed. The # 1 seed is Purdue who just lost to an average Wisconsin team. Creighton has the Big in Kalkbrenner to defend Zach Edey too. Tennessee is the # 2 seed and while they're great defensively, they can really struggle offensively outside of Dalton Knecht. If he also struggles you get losses like the 56-73 defeat to Mississippi State in the SEC tournament quarter final. Creighton has an elite defense. Kansas is the # 4 and they just ruled out Kevin McCullar Jr for the entire Tournament. Gonzaga's # 5 and they're much weaker than years past, failing to win the WCC Tournament for just the 2nd time in 12 years. Creighton's a clear favorite over the rest of the field. The Blue Jays also have the experience from their Elite 8 run just a season ago.

Kentucky +3,000 (1 Unit).

Kentucky's offense is good enough to cover up for their mediocre defense but it's a defense that's flashed potential of late. They've had very strong defensive showings vs Ole Miss, @ Auburn and @ Tennessee over the last Month. They don't need to be elite, just respectable with how strong they are offensively. Kentucky's played 5 games against teams ranked inside the top 10 in adjusted defensive efficiency this season. Going Back; 85-81 W vs TN, 70-59 W vs AUB, 92-103 L vs TN, 87-83 W vs UNC, and 84-89 L vs Kansas. No defense has stopped Kentucky's offense this entire year. They're 2nd in Points per game, 7th in FG%, 1st in 3-PT %, 20th in FT%, and 12th in assist to turnover ratio. When they're hot it doesn't matter how bad their defense is. They won't have to worry about facing a truly elite offense until the elite 8 either. Florida (15th Adj O) and Marquette (22nd Adj O) are the top 2 offenses on the way there but those two would be forced to meet in the 2nd round. If John Calipari can get this Kentucky defense consistent, they're more than capable of making the run. He's one of the best coaches to ever do it and his teams always have a shot.
