Eerily similar play to the Thunder last night. Houston's played just 1 Home game in the past 2.5 weeks, and it was a 119-116 win over OKC. They've played 3 straight road games, including a 99-93 loss in Golden State. Both teams had poor shooting nights but that's to be expected with two strong defensive teams. The Rockets were exceptionally poor shooting just 37.6% from the field and 26.3% from 3. Despite that they lost by just 6 points. Houston's 16-8 this season but just 7-5 on the road. They're 9-3 overall and 8-1 in their last 9 games played at Home. With money on the line the NBA Cup provides a playoff atmosphere and that energy's infectious. That leads to more physical basketball and lower scoring games in general. Houston's defensive intensity has the most to gain from the crowd and energy. Regression alone suggest Houston puts forth a better offensive effort compared to their last meeting with Golden State but shooting on their home nets certainly helps. Either way Houston will need elite defense to get this win tonight.
