7:10PM EST: Grand Canyon +6.5 (4 Units)
Grand Canyon just handled a good Saint Mary's team on Friday. They're one of the better defensive teams in the Country but the Antelopes did their thing. They drive to the basket and get to the Free Throw line. They're 3rd nationally in Free Throw Rate and shot 36 Free Throws against St. Mary's. Alabama ranks 320th in FTR defensively and are 341st in fouls per game. The Alabama defense has been terrible all year and that won't change here. Alabama's offense can get scary hot but Grand Canyon has good length defensively. They're 42nd overall in Adj D but they do a good job defending the 3-PT Line. They play 1 guy that stands shorter than 6'4 and he averages just 15 minutes per night. GC will be able to score on the Tide and even if Alabama's offense is humming it should be inside the 3-PT line today.

Bit too many points in what should be a slower paced game. UConn is 324th and Northwestern 340th in Adjusted Tempo. The Wildcats play smaller and it's because they have elite guard play. They're 7th Nationally in 3-PT% coming in just below 40%. They're 4th in turnovers per game and are tied with these Huskies in Assist/Turnover ratios. They will lose the rebounding battle in this game, but they don't beat themselves and that's why we like them to hang around. As good as UConn is defensively, they lose the 3-PT Line at times. Defensively they're 113th in Open-3 Rate, 226th in PPP vs Catch & Shoot 3's, and 199th vs Off the Dribble 3's. They haven't had to defend a 3-PT shooting team as good as this all year either. Creighton is the only quality 3-PT shooting team in the Big East besides themselves. Creighton beat UConn at Home 85-66 shooting 50% from deep. Creighton's still a few % points worse than NW as well. Northwestern's lost just 1 game by Double Digits this entire season. They've played Purdue twice, upsetting them at Home once and losing Away. Both games went into OT. They were outrebounded 47-26 in the Win and 33-22 in the loss. This isn't unfamiliar territory for the Wildcats and even if UConn's blowing them out, catching 13.5 with an elite 3-PT shooting team such as this has backdoor cover all over it.
