Two very strong offenses but contrasting styles. Illinois is 4th in Adj Offense and 57th in Adj Tempo. Wisconsin is 14th in Adj Offense but 307th in Adj Tempo. We trust Wisconsin to slow this game down enough like they've done all year. They're 350th in offensive transition frequency and they do a great job getting back and setting up on defense, ranking 326th in defensive transition frequency. It's a defense that's put the clamps down in Tournament play. They held Maryland to 56 in Game 1, a good Northwestern offense to 61 in Game 2, and Purdue to just 66 in regulation yesterday. The Illinois defense isn't great, but the Badgers offense started coming back down to Earth. They started the Big 10 Tournament going 26/47 from beyond the Arc in games 1 and 2. Against Purdue yesterday they went 7/32. Wisconsin's 189th in 3-Pt % this year. Part of that is just coming back to reality but it's also the result of playing multiple days in a row. Illinoi's 123rd in 3-PT % on the season and 150th in 3-PT Rate. Just not how they go about scoring on offense. Don't expect either team to have too much success from outside in this one. Wisconsin isn't going to win a track meet with Illinois and slowing the game down will also disrupt the Illinoi's offensive flow.
