(2 Picks)
6:30PM EST: Rutgers/Maryland Under 125.5 (3 Units).
These two have played twice this season and combined for 109 points exactly in each game. They're two defense first teams. Maryland's 12th in Adj D and 305th in Adj T. Rutgers is 4th in Adj D and 156th in Adj T. They're both terrible on offense. Rutgers is 342nd and Maryland 289th in points per game. They're 357th and 326th in FG%, 349th and 353rd in 3-PT%, 338th and 173rd in FT%, and 288th and 339th in assists per game. They're quite literally bad at everything offensively. Both teams are bottom 40 in points per game when playing on the road. With this game being a neutral site, it makes it even more difficult for these offenses to find a rhythm. The Big 10's one of the most physical conferences in College Basketball and refs tend to let more go come Tournament time too.
9:30PM EST: Cincinnati -2.5 (5 Units).
This is all about Kansas's health. They've opted to rest both Kevin McCullar and Hunter Dickinson for the Big 12 Tournament. Those two have carried Kansas through plenty of games and account for a large share of this team's production. McCullar and Dickinson were responsible for 36.3 of Kansas's 76 Points per game and 16.8 of their 35.7 Rebounds per game. These are two of the best players in the Country and Kansas has had plenty of issues all year with both of them in the lineup, especially outside Allen Fieldhouse. This Kansas team will be a shell of itself and the overall motivation and desire to play for the rest of the squad is questionable. Bill Self and Co. practically threw in the towel for the Big 12 Tournament. A Conference tournament win is nice, but you play at Kansas to win National Championships.
As far as missing points and rebounds go, Cincinnati is an awful matchup for Kansas. They're 23rd in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency and have been one of the top defensive Units all year. They're also 9th in total rebound rate and 9th in offensive rebound %. Kansas is 90th in Rebound Rate and 62nd in defensive rebounding % this season as is. Now they're without their top 2 rebounders and one of the best in the Country. These two played in Kansas earlier this year with the Jayhawks winning 74-69. Cinci outrebounded them 37-28, 14 of which were offensive.
