Rutgers ranks 241st in adjusted offensive efficiency but they're 16th in adjusted defensive efficiency. Ohio State is much better offensively sitting at 22nd in AdjO but they're still respectable defensively ranking 45th in AdjD. They both play very slowly. Rutgers ranks 242nd in Adjusted Tempo while OSU ranks 270th. Rutgers shoots just 39.7% from the field, 346th in the nation. They aren't a strong rebounding team either but Ohio State is. Going to be a lot of long empty single possessions for Rutgers.

The Scarlet Knights really struggle away from home and that's a year after year trend. Their defense travels though and they matchup well. The Buckeyes can get hot from deep but Rutgers is 40th in opponent open 3 rate while OSU's offense ranks 106th. It's very difficult to score inside against Rutgers with Clifford Omoruyi defending the Rim. He's the best shot blocker in the Nation and leads all Power 6 players averaging 3.4 blocks per game. Rutgers as a team ranks 9th in blocks per game.

This head-to-head series has turned into an intense rivalry lately. Each of their last 3 meetings have been decided by 4 points or less and all 3 have gone under. Neither team's scored more than 70 points in any of those contests. Should be another tough physical game between these Big 10 programs.
