Gavin Williams is picking up right where he left off after a strong 2025 campaign (3.06 ERA in 31 starts). He’s been dominant to start this season — allowing just 5 hits across 17.2 innings with 25 strikeouts and a 2.04 ERA. He’s coming off a statement outing with 7 shutout innings against the Dodgers on the road.
Matthew Liberatore has been solid overall, allowing 1 earned run in each of his first two starts before a tougher outing in Washington — a lineup that ranks near the top of the league in production vs lefties. Back at home, he’s in a much better spot against a Cleveland offense hitting just .240 with a .673 OPS vs LHP.
Both bullpens are also in excellent shape, with high-leverage arms well-rested after minimal usage over the past few days.
With two capable starters and fresh bullpens, this sets up as a low-scoring battle.
