The Chicago Cubs travel to Milwaukee to take on the Brewers in Game 1 of a 3 game series. The Cubs and Brewers met in Chicago to open the season with Chicago taking 2 out of 3. First pitch is scheduled for 8:10pm eastern time at American Family Field.
Longtime Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks starts for Chicago. Hendricks and shutting down the Brewers is a story as old as time. In his first start of the year against the Brewers he went 5.1 IP and allowed just 1ER. In his last start he threw 7 scoreless innings and allowed just 2 hits without a walk.
Adrian Houser starts for Milwaukee. He’s coming off a career year in 2021 and off to a good start in 2022, he owns a 3.52 era through 3 starts. His most recent start against Philly saw him pitch 6 innings allowing 3ER. In his 1 start against the division rival Cubs last year he went just 4IP allowing 5 Runs while giving up 7 hits and 2 free passes.
The Cubs offense is playing well lately, hitting .283 over the L7 days. The Brewers on the other hand are hitting just .212. Outside of a couple players most of the Brewers hitters have terrible numbers against Hendricks. Take the hot bats with a strong SP in this one.
