Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers are taking all the headlines but these were two of the best defenses in the NFL last season. The Jets ranked 2nd in points allowed per game and Buffalo ranked 4th. Last season against the Jets the Bills scored 20 in the first game and 17 in the 2nd. QB Josh Allen's combined passing stat line: 34/61 for 347 Yards, 1 TD, 2 INT.
The Jets have arguably the #1 CB in the NFL in Sauce Gardner and opposite him is DJ Reed. Reed doesn't get nearly enough credit simply because he plays opposite Sauce. The Jets offense will be light years ahead of where it's been in the past with Aaron Rodgers under center but there's a lot of change. Things don't always start off so hot. Look no further than the Jets current Offensive Coordinator's former job as Head Coach of the Denver Broncos. Nathanial Hackett was supposed to lead a prolific offense with Russell Wilson at the helm and it simply didn't happen.
Aaron Rodgers isn't Russel Wilson and the Jets offense is going to be respectable but it takes time to Gel. The Jets starters have played just 2 drives of live game action together. Starting RB Breece Hall didn't practice for half of camp and Dalvin Cook signed 2 days before Hall returned to the field.
