Reynaldo Lopez had a solid debut on paper, but the underlying numbers tell a different story — finishing with a 4.46 xERA and benefiting from some tough luck for Kansas City. He also struggled to close out spring, allowing 7 combined earned runs in his final two outings.
Ryne Nelson gets the ball for Arizona, and aside from one rough inning in LA, he was sharp. He allowed just 2 hits over 4.2 innings, with damage coming after briefly losing command. Back at home — where he posted a 2.71 ERA last season — he’s in a much better spot to bounce back.
Nelson has also handled this Braves lineup well, holding them to a .200 AVG across 62 career plate appearances.
With plus money at home and a favorable pitching setup, Arizona offers strong value tonight.
