The Texas A&M Aggies open conference play against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Technically a neutral site but this game is being played at AT&T Stadium, home to the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00p.m. eastern time.

No. 10 Arkansas Razorbacks (3-0)

Sam Pittman has the pigs off to a 3-0 start. They opened the season with an impressive win over Cincinnati and continued to take care of business vs South Carolina and Missouri State. The big 240-pound QB K.J. Jefferson is leading one of the most prolific offenses in College Football, they’re averaging over 500 yards and 37.7 points per game. Jefferson’s thrown for 770 yards, rushed for 169, and has accounted for 9 touchdowns. Future NFL running back Raheim Sanders is a big physical RB with dual threat capability. He’s averaging 146.7 yards rushing (6.7 YPC) and 39 yards receiving per game. This team is built to run the football, they have the largest offensive line in the nation and two big physical runners on the field at all times.

The Arkansas defense has had its struggles. They lost a lot of talent from last season and are struggling on the back end. They’re allowing 352.7 pass yards a game, which ranks dead last. They do however lead the nation in sacks, LB Drew Sanders leads the team with 5.5 while DL Jordan Domineck has 4. Missouri State was able to throw up 27 points on this group last week, a game Arkansas was favored by 26 in. Arkansas plays an aggressive style of defense; with just 3 down lineman they’ll fire linebackers and safeties regularly to bring pressure.

No. 23 Texas A&M Aggies (2-1)

It’s been a shaky start for Jimbo Fisher’s group. They won their season opener, lost a stunner to Appalachian state, then changed QB’s to LSU transfer Max Johnson and got a win over No. 13 Miami. The offense didn’t do much, they scored just 17 points, but they didn’t turn the ball over. They were without WR’s Evan Stewart and Chris Marshall though; they were suspended due to curfew violations. Johnson was a solid QB for LSU in 2 seasons, he threw for 3,884 yards and 35 touchdowns, while throwing just 7 interceptions. A&M wants to run the football and the run game should continue to improve as starting Center Bryce Foster gets healthy. He played his first game of the season last week vs Miami after recovering from Mono.

The Aggies have one of the best defenses in the country and it’s a large reason why they were ranked 6th in the pre-season poll. They’ve allowed just 26 points all season and have been next to impossible to throw on. They let up just 147.3 yards passing a game, which ranks 10th. They haven’t been great against the run, letting up 154 yards a game but they’ve allowed just 1 rushing touchdown. They could use more production from their front 4, they have just 4 sacks despite great coverage on the back end.
